Full parchment binding with nails on the outer edges of the plates and calligraphic title on the spine: holes on the outer edges of the plates for closing ties now missing; traces of dust and brown stains on the plates, dirty back with small paper cataloging label; cataloging number on the front plate; margins and caps dented. Tears and defects in the paper covering of the front cover. Cuts colored in blue with traces of dust. Small cataloging notation in pen on the lower margin of the title page. Well-preserved papers with sporadic marginal foxing, more frequent in the last part of the volume; we point out: a lack in the lower external corner of A5; drops of wax on the text (which remains legible) in D4; a brown spot at the outer edge of DD6. Description

Beautiful edition by Ammiano Marcellino printed in clear cursive characters in the printing house of Gabriel Giolito di Ferrari in Venice. The translation is by Remigio Nannini (1521-1581), collaborator and editor of numerous editions and translations for the Giolito de' Ferrari family. On the title page and the Colophon the famous typographic brand with the phoenix reborn from the fire and the motto Semper eadem. At the dedication to the Archbishop of Florence Antonio Altoviti and at each book drop caps engraved with scenes of life and characters.
